According to the Bank for International Settlements, $7.5 trillion ang daily volume ng Forex market - making it the largest financial market in the world!

Yung $1 = ₱56? Tapos bumaba to ₱50? Kung nag-convert ka ng ₱560,000 to $10,000 nung ₱56, then bumalik to peso nung ₱50, may ₱500,000 ka na lang. Lugi ka ng ₱60,000! Pero what if baliktad? Yun ang Forex trading - pero instead of physical money exchange, ginagawa mo online with leverage!

Bakit Popular ang Forex Trading?

1. Malawak na Market - 24/5 Operations

Unlike Philippine Stock Exchange na 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM lang, Forex market is open 24 hours, 5 days a week! Ito ang schedule:

  • Sydney Session: 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM (PH Time)
  • Tokyo Session: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (PH Time)
  • London Session: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM (PH Time)
  • New York Session: 8:00 PM - 5:00 AM (PH Time)

Meaning: Kahit may day job ka, pwede kang mag-trade pagkagising mo or pagkauwi mo!

2. Leverage - Trading with Borrowed Capital

Example:

  • Capital mo: ₱5,000
  • Leverage: 1:100
  • Trading power mo: ₱500,000!

WARNING: Leverage is a double-edged sword.

3. Two-Way Opportunity

4. Low Starting Capital

Hindi tulad ng real estate o business, pwede kang magsimula sa Forex with as low as $10 (₱500). Perfect para sa mga nagsisimula pa lang!

Mga Mahahalagang Terminology na Dapat Mong Malaman

1. Currency Pairs

Ito ang magka-partner na pera. Always traded in pairs kasi binibili mo ang isa using the other. May tatlong types:

Major Pairs (Most traded, lowest spreads):

  • EUR/USD (Euro vs US Dollar)
  • GBP/USD (British Pound vs US Dollar)
  • USD/JPY (US Dollar vs Japanese Yen)
  • USD/CHF (US Dollar vs Swiss Franc)

Minor Pairs (Cross currencies, no USD):

  • EUR/GBP (Euro vs British Pound)
  • EUR/JPY (Euro vs Japanese Yen)
  • GBP/JPY (British Pound vs Japanese Yen)

Exotic Pairs (Major currency + emerging market):

  • USD/PHP (US Dollar vs Philippine Peso)
  • USD/THB (US Dollar vs Thai Baht)
  • EUR/TRY (Euro vs Turkish Lira)

2. Pip (Percentage in Point)

Usually 0.0001 or fourth decimal place.

Example:
EUR/USD moves from 1.1000 to 1.1001 = 1 pip movement
USD/JPY moves from 110.00 to 110.01 = 1 pip movement

Pip Value Calculation:
Standard lot (100,000 units) = $10 per pip
Mini lot (10,000 units) = $1 per pip
Micro lot (1,000 units) = $0.10 per pip

3. Spread

Ito ang difference between buying (Ask) at selling (Bid) price. Ito ang kumita ng broker.

Example:
EUR/USD Bid: 1.1000 (selling price)
EUR/USD Ask: 1.1002 (buying price)
Spread: 2 pips

Tip: Choose brokers with tight spreads para mas mura ang trading costs!

4. Lot Size

  • Standard Lot: 100,000 units
  • Mini Lot: 10,000 units
  • Micro Lot: 1,000 units
  • Nano Lot: 100 units

5. Margin and Leverage

Example with 1:100 leverage:
To trade 1 mini lot ($10,000), kelangan mo lang ng $100 margin!
